Comare and contrast
1. Compare and contrast
These two Arabian folktales ("Aladdin" and Ail Baba and the
forty thieves) have many similarities and differences. That is
one of the many reasons I'm typing this paper. So here they
are.
One similarities is that both stories have magic caves. They
also have differences. Don't worry I'll mention them later. Both
caves have treasures in them. Plus both caves are in the
middle nowhere.
Another similarity is that they are two of many Arabian
folktales. I found both stories interesting. That's reason I liked
then both. Now let's move on shall we.
A third similarity is that both stories have good people and bad
people. For example in "Hercules" Herc is the good guy and
Hetti's is the bad guy. But in Ali Baba the main character
doesn't defeat the bad person.
This will have to be my last similarity. Don't get mad I'll be
telling four differences about the stories. This similarity is that
both main characters are poor. Well you might feel bad but
you don't need to. Both get rich. One by a cave/ job. Another
by marriage.
Now time for differences. My first difference is that the caves
are similar but different. A difference is that one has a name
the other doesn't. Aladdin's cave name is the "cave of
wonders". The other is nameless.
Another difference is that one city has a name the other does
2. not. "Aladdin's" city name is called Acraba again the other is
nameless. I thought that Ali Baba's city needed a name.
My third differences that Ali Baba was a book and Aladdin was
a movie. (For what we had). This is good because we had two
different ways to listen to the stories. I thought that was the
best way.
This difference is that they were about different things.
"Aladdin" was about a magic lamp. Ali Baba is about a new
heron. I liked Aladdin's story better. I liked the theme in Ali
Baba better.
In concussion I liked "Aladdin" better. This is so because we
could listen and watch. Also because most of us have seen so
we can understand it better.
